Salvatore Troiano
Born in Naples in August 1977, Salvatore Troiano studied at the Filippo Palizzi Art Institute, graduating in Applied Art with a focus on graphics and printmaking.
After his studies, an interest in many artistic languages led him to Nikoe sas, an art studio and print workshop in Naples. There he explored drypoint, etching and aquatint on copper and zinc, as well as multicolour hand screen printing, stone lithography and woodcut. He also studied photography and darkroom development.
Alongside his technical practice, he worked with the studio team on exhibitions featuring Bertoni, an engraver; Dell’Aversano, a painter and teacher; and Stefanucci, a set designer, painter and professor at the Naples Academy of Fine Arts.
His journey continued in art workshops, where he learned the terracotta techniques of eighteenth-century Neapolitan tradition. That experience sparked his interest in the different expressions of popular art: art of the people.
